Culture as a tool for development

Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED)

Strukturebene: Europäische Union

This is a title of bilingual (English-French) publication released by ARCADE, a project that collects articles and case studies related to the cultural component in development processes, including both theoretical perspectives and applied research as well as practical outcomes achieved by cultural operators involved in development programmes. The final reports of the four seminars organized in the framework of the ARCADE project between 2007 and 2008 are also included in the publication. Launched by the Agency for Technical Cooperation and Development (ACTED), in collaboration with the European New Towns Platform (ENTP) and the Interdisciplinary Centre for Comparative Research in Social Sciences (CIR), this project aims to raise awareness on culture and development in Europe and to highlight that the respect of cultural diversity is a pre-requisite for successful and sustainable development projects.
